If you're the kind of guy who values cost-per-wear, look no further than this Strike Gold sweatshirt. This durable heavyweight wonder is guaranteed to last a lifetime with a flattering fit, a soft feel and exceptional warmth. It feels like "a warm hug".
This Strike Gold ("Tsuri-Ami") sweatshirt is woven in the Japanese Kanekichi Wakayama workshop, one of only two workshops in the world still keeping in operation after more than 100 years the tubular textile production machines that allow seamless garments to be made. The only tension used in the knitting process is gravity, the end result being a knitted fabric with virtually no inbuilt stress or tension. A loopwheel machine rotates at just 24 revolutions per minute, with only 8-10 garments worth of fabric produced per day. A modern knitting machine in excess of 10 times that. The result is a heavyweight, soft but strong fabric, and the best sweatshirt material made today.
It features a round neck and no side seams. This built-to-last sweatshirt is super soft on the inside and resistant on the outside. They've been woven a bit tighter than traditional loopwheeled sweatshirt fabrics to make them a bit more windproof.
The cut is a tight fit on the chest and relaxed at the waist, with a length somewhat shorter than usual.
The Strike Gold offers one-wash and non-wash versions. We have chosen the one-wash version for this model so expect no shrinkage with the following washes.
